NXDN (NEXEDGE and IDAS): a superior international digital protocol allowing for VNB (Very Narrow Bandwidth of 6.25Khz) as well as analog 12.5Khz in the SAME radio! (It was a revolutionary breakthrough combining analog and digital capability)
Digital Mobile Radio (DMR): an international standard protocol allowing for both a single analog 12.5Khz or TWO 6.25Khz digital channels in the 12.5Khz bandwidth. Note: ALL manufacturers of DMR equipment agree to be compatible with all other brands so the user may choose the "feature set" and "price range" they need, however certain manufacturers make every attempt at making it proprietary to their brand.
P25: an international standard protocol mostly utilized in Public Safety and large utilities which provides total backward compatibility for analog, Phase I FDMA digital as well as Phase II TDMA (very similiar to DMR in its transmission). Phase I provides the "best range" per site while Phase II doubles the number of voice channels but sacrifices range.
